KSCHMA ORGANISED A 3-DAY CONSULTATIVE WORKSHOP WITH ORGANISED PRIVATE SECTOR.
Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency with support from FCDO Lafiya Programme has organised a 3-day consultative workshop with Organised Private Sector in an effort to convince them to key in to the State Contributory Healthcare Scheme for the benefit of their members.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar pleaded with the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress Kano State chapter to help the Agency to bring the private sector on board so that quality and affordable healthcare will be provided to huge number of Kano residents working in the sector.
Dr. Rahila added that, it has been difficult for the Agency alone to do this important work, despite the advantage of the scheme over other healthcare plans patronised by some private organisations.
The Executive Secretary also presented a paper Titled KSCHMA: The journey so far. Where she stated that the Agency was established to ensure that all Kano residents have access to quality and affordable healthcare irrespective of their status.
She added that the enrolees of the scheme utilised more than 900,000 different healthcare services in 2023 and more than 300,000 services in the first quarter of 2024.
Dr. Rahila called on organisations, communities and individuals to key into the scheme to benefit from the enormous opportunities and general improvement of healthcare services in the state.
In their separate goodwill messages the labour unions, partners and important dignitaries appreciated the efforts of KSCHMA leadership for organising the workshop, which they described as a very important step towards achieving universal Health Coverage for all residents of Kano
The workshop was attended by Representatives of some companies, leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), Joint Negotiation Council (JNC), Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Organised Private Sector Unions (OPS), and National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, FCDO Lafiya and KANSLAM were among the development partners present during the workshop.
